Understand shared walls, openings, and orientation when building connected Xactimate interior sketches.

Confirm which walls touch, where the opening sits, and whether the new room extends in the expected direction before adding details that can hide a bad connection.
Incorrect adjacency can distort the property layout, room quantities, shared surfaces, openings, and the reviewer's understanding of how photographs relate to the sketch. The mistake often becomes harder to diagnose after several more rooms are attached.
A bathroom-and-laundry or bedroom-hall-bathroom combination makes a strong practice lab because the group must solve adjacency without the distraction of a large property.
Stop and recheck the earliest shared dimension, opening, and orientation. Forcing the final wall to fit can conceal the original measurement or placement error.
